2009 · Lunacy
μ (Mu)
Designed to shoot moon rocks into opposing trailers on a low-traction field.
The Game
The goal of Lunacy was to score as many game pieces in the opposing side’s trailers as possible. Robots could carry “empty cells” from the midfield to the corner of the field to change them into “super cells,” increasing their scoring value. All robots had to operate using un-modifiable wheels designed to reduce traction, simulating the low-gravity environment of the moon.
The Robot
Mu was designed to pick up “moon rocks” and shoot them into opposing trailers after the game pieces traveled up a belt system inside the robot. The team attended the Midwest Regional and the Boilermaker Regional during the 2009 season.
