Named after the subfamily of eared seals, built to launch power cells.
Otariinae returned for the 2020 season — FIRST Infinite Recharge. In this game, robots collected and launched Power Cells (yellow foam balls) into goals while navigating a color-spinning control panel and climbing at the end of the match.
The 2020 season was unfortunately cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team was able to compete at early events before the worldwide shutdown.
The robot shared its name with the 2018 version, reflecting the team’s design lineage and continuous improvement philosophy.
